Meet Our Curriculum

Our Message

Jesus is Lord and he loves you.

Our Mission

We want to help you develop lifelong followers of Jesus.

Our approach is to teach stories within the context of the overarching Biblical narrative, so that kids and youth can learn each story and how it connects into God’s story. We also want kids and youth to see where they fit into God’s story, and discover the role that God has for them as disciples of Jesus.

Each week, four key elements form the structure for One Story curriculum:

Children hear or read a story from the Bible.

Children see or hear a real-life, relevant example that helps them understand and engage with the Big Idea. This is a real-life example that brings the Big Idea to life.

Application activities that give kids the opportunity to process, engage with, and discuss the Big Idea and biblical themes introduced in the lesson.

Each week, we also include resources for families to use at home. Kids leave with resources for their families and community to continue the conversation and learning at home throughout the week.

Curriculum

Raising kids and youth to become lifelong disciples of Jesus is, well, a lifelong process. This is why One Story curriculum has been developed to help connect with kids and youth at whatever stage or age they are at and to help them see how they fit into God’s overarching story.

Ages 1-5

Early Years

Children are introduced to the grand story of Jesus and God’s love for everyone. This builds trust and familiarity with biblical characters and stories that lay the foundation for our Kids curriculum.

Grades 1-5

Kids

Children go through the entire biblical narrative over 4 years focusing on different stories each year, but always focusing on Jesus as the central character of this story and helping kids see the connection between each story and Jesus. This builds on the foundation starting in Early Years and prepares the kids for our Junior High Curriculum.

Grades 6-8

Junior High

Youth are lead through the entire biblical narrative again focusing on the same stories as they did in the Kids curriculum but at a deeper and more mature level, building on the familiarity developed in the Kids curriculum and helping the youth process and engage with the themes and Big Ideas at a deeper level.
